Osaka University

Osaka University is a national university established in 1931. It is home to around 23,000 students including 15,059 undergraduate students, the highest among national universities in Japan. Boasting 11 undergraduate schools, 15 graduate schools, and 6 affiliated research institutes, Osaka University is one of Japan’s premier comprehensive research universities. The university aims to be a world-leading innovative university that contributes to education and research under its motto, “Live locally, Grow Globally.” As the university endeavors to be a global institution and enhance its international presence, the official English name will be changed to "The University of Osaka" as of April 2025.
